On the Golm, you can make your turns on perfectly groomed slopes. How is this possible?

Thanks to a sophisticated snow management system that turns your descent into a unique experience. The best thing is that even if there is not enough natural snow, you can still enjoy sustainable and environmentally friendly skiing on the Golm. This is because the technical snowmaking system on the adventure mountain is eco-efficient and uses existing resources from the region.

How does snow form on the Golm?

Whether using a snow cannon or snow lances, the production of technical snow is relatively similar in both cases: water is finely atomized by the nozzles integrated into the device and then blown out. The dry air stream draws heat from the surroundings and freezes the fine water droplets. This is how the white flakes fall to the ground and we can guarantee 100 percent snow-covered kilometers of slopes.

Incidentally, we do not use any additives in the snowmaking process - for the sake of nature!

Water from Lake Lünersee makes it possible

Because we want to use valuable resources as sparingly as possible for snow production, we pay attention to sustainable and environmentally friendly snow management on the Golm.

The water for our technical snowmaking comes directly from Lake Lünersee. This is made possible by an efficient pressure pipeline. A sophisticated drainage system then returns the water to the reservoir, where it can be used to generate electricity in the hydroelectric power plant. A sustainable, efficient cycle that shows that our technical snow is clean snow.

Snowsat: the high-tech snow management system

Digital, efficient and reliable: At Golm, we rely on the high-tech Snowsat snow management system. The advantage: the reliably collected digital data not only allows work processes to be optimized. From the first to the last day of skiing, resources are also used effectively in terms of slope preparation and snowmaking. This means we can open our slopes earlier and you can enjoy our 44 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes for even longer.

Snow depth measurement and control

When it comes to snow, Snowsat regulates, optimizes and controls almost everything: from the technical equipment and positioning of our snow cannons to the delivery of precise slope data. Detailed snow forecasts allow us to react quickly to the current situation.

This means we know exactly how much snow there is on our slopes - and where we may need to make some adjustments. Thanks to the uncomplicated communication technology, our employees are at the next location with their snow groomers as quickly as possible. This not only saves time, but also valuable resources.

Slope construction & slope preparation

Whether blue, red or black: only an ideally groomed piste is a good piste. However, making snow and preparing our slopes involves a lot of work. The drivers of our snow groomers are happy to work for you and ensure optimum conditions - quickly, efficiently and reliably.

What's more, our digital snow management system immediately identifies potential for improvement on the slopes. Measures and corrections can be implemented immediately.

HVO-Diesel

Thanks to the switch to HVO diesel, our snow groomers have been particularly climate-friendly since the winter of 2024/25. This allows us to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and make a further contribution to sustainable snow management.

Fantastic conditions for your perfect skiing day on the Golm in the Montafon.
