Latschau via ferrata

Accompanied by a Montafon mountain guide, the easily accessible via ferrata at the Latschau reservoir is ideal for families who want to gain their first experience of via ferrata together. With difficulty levels ranging from A to C, children and adults can practice using the via ferrata set safely, and it is possible to exit at any time. In the afternoon, the rock here is particularly sunny, accompanied by a view of the nearby Zimba, the “Matterhorn of the Montafon.” This activity can be ideally combined with a morning of skiing on the Golm mountain.

Meeting point: 2:00 p.m. at the Latschau climbing rock.

The climbing rock is located next to the forest rope park, on the opposite side of the reservoir near the middle station of the Golmerbahn in Latschau. It is about a 10-minute walk from the Latschau Golmerbahn bus stop: walk along the shore of the reservoir around the lake until you reach the climbing rock on the other side. It is not directly in the forest rope park, but next to it on the rock face.

• Duration: approx. 1.5 hours (pure climbing time: 1 hour).
• Registration: by 7:00 p.m. the day before.
• Equipment: Closed mountain boots with good tread soles; warm clothing (hat, gloves, etc.) is recommended in cold temperatures. Your mountain guide will provide you with a via ferrata set on site.
• Uncertain weather: In wet weather and on wet rock (due to rain in the morning), it is highly unlikely that climbing will be possible (risk of slipping) – in this case, the booking will be canceled free of charge and you will be informed. Unfortunately, it is not possible to offer an alternative date on top of the regular dates.

• By car: Drive up Latschaustraße to the reservoir at the Golmerbahn Latschau.
